Camel Stitch Headband with a Twist

So, I've been working on these headbands for the past while and am so excited to share them with you! We're going to use the camel stitch, like we did for the granny square, and its a simple easy stitch that works well when we add the twist. The twist and stitch adds some interest that is prefect in combination.

So, to recap, we fhdc (foundation half double crochet) for 20", then chain 2 turn work around, now hdc into the third loop and across the row. See the image below.

See the full pattern:

Camel Stitch headband with a Twist

Size: 21"x 4"

Materials: Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver in Burgundy but I've also used other worsted weight yarn and a 4.5 mm crochet hook.

Row 1: ch3, FHDC 70 or chain 72, and HDC into 3rd chain from the hook and each stitch across.

Row 2-12: ch2, hdc into the third loop (see above), in each stitch across.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail, about 8-12".

Place the fabric on your table, right side up. Fold in half along the length, folding the right side, inside your fold. Bring your 2 ends together and put 1 edge inside your fold, and fold the other side around, like in the image at right.

Thread your darning needle with your long tail and sew across all 4 layers, along the ends, and weave in ends.

Turn your headband right side out, and admire your work!

Here are a couple I made recently. I just love how simple and lovely they are. Sign up for our email list below as we will be using different techniques to create our fabric, so we can create several different styles of this twist headband.

As always, if you make this one, post a pic of you creation and tag us on Instagram. I will share the pics to our stories! I love to see what you're creating with our tutorials! Feel free to comment below if you have any questions.

Thanks for hangin' out with us!

Much Love,
